A practical addition for a day by the sea
Fold a large sheet of canvas in half and sew channels for dowel supports at 1m intervals.
Cut your desired pattern motif shape and glue to the end of a cork to make a print stamp.
Divide your chosen colour of fabric paint into four containers and dilute with increasing amounts of water in order to create varying strengths of your selected shade.
Stamp your deepest colour at the bottom of the canvas and work up to the lightest hue for an ombre effect.

Transform your beach finds
Paint a long, straight branch and tie a length of string to each end so you can hang it on a wall. Next, glue shells on to lengths of twine and tie to the wood.
Add texture with felt balls on lengths of thread. Tie scraps of fabric to the twine to finish the look.
